War Child Film Screening-Runs Through 2/22/09 @ Firehouse Theater

War Child, an award-winning documentary directed by C. Karim Chrobog, chronicles the amazingly trying but hopeful odyssey of Emmanuel Jal. A former child soldier of Sudan's brutal civil war, he is now an emerging international hip hop star sharing a message of peace for his war-torn land and beloved Africa.

Emmanuel Jal
is one of Africa's fastest rising stars and a true advocate for his tragic cause. Child soldiering is something the world largely ignores. Having lived through unspeakably horrific experiences, Jal feels a responsibility to share his story. War Child the documentary is the third incarnation of Jal's message, having released an album and a book this year.

The Award Winning film War Child will run in Harlem at the Faison Firehouse Theater (6 Hancock Place, 124 th Street between St. Nicholas & Morningside Aves.) now until February 22, 2009. Tickets are $10.00. Group Sales are available (10 or more).
